Barone appeared in the fourth-season Seinfeld episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham an executive chef, who was looking for Elaine Benes shoes. Early in the 1990s Barone was a regular on Carol & Company alongside Carol Burnett. Barone played her ex-wife, Carol Willick Ross Geller during the first Friends appearance. Jane Sibbett, who replaced Barone after leaving the show because she wanted to appear as a character in a larger character, was her replacement. She had a role on The Jeff Foxworthy Show from 1995 through 1996 as well as The War at Home from 2005 to 2007. In 2000, Barone played a part in the sitcom Daddio.
